Pet Wellness Examinations in Leesport
Keeping Your Pet Healthy Through the Years
Our doctors recommend that we get annual physical exams to monitor our health and catch any diseases or illnesses before they cause harm to our bodies. Much like humans, our pets need annual examinations too. By bringing your pet into Leesport Animal Hospital for a wellness examination, our veterinarians are able to establish a baseline for his or her health. In doing so, we can catch any health conditions or monitor symptoms. It also allows us to treat any problems before they cause harm to your pet’s overall health.
What Does a Wellness Exam Entail?
Our physical exams include a head-to-tail assessment where our veterinarians will:
- Check the body weight and temperature
- Look at the eyes, ears, and nose
- Check the lymph nodes
- Look in the mouth to assess the health of the teeth and gums
- Evaluate the heart and lungs
- Feel the abdomen to check the internal organs including the kidneys and liver
- Evaluate the muscles, spine, and joints
After the examination, we carefully document our findings and give you our recommendations for any health problems we find.
